House of Representatives wants campaign against blind spot accidents
The House of Representatives wants the government to start a long-term campaign to draw people's attention to the dangers of the blind spot in trucks. The government must also investigate whether it is possible to make provisions that can prevent blind spot accidents mandatory.
The motion was submitted by CDA member Von Martels. Almost all parties in the House of Representatives voted in favour, with the exception of the VVD. This is remarkable because VVD member Mark Rutte experienced a blind spot accident five years ago and the woman who died in the process still provided assistance: https://www.nu.nl/binnenland/3403861/rutte-staat-verkeerslachtoffer -fatal-accident-at.html
