What does the RDW Automotive Type Approval (E4) mean?
The RDW is the Dutch inspection body that ensures that the procedures of Framework Directive 2007/46/EC and Agreement 1958 of the ECE (Economic Commission Europe) are followed in accordance with the regulations. This type of approval is a requirement to be allowed on the Dutch and European road network as a vehicle and after-market product. As a manufacturer, you must demonstrate that you manage all processes in relation to the legal aspects of the products you supply. The purpose of this inspection is: safety, durability and legal certainty.
